How to Use?
- 1
Choose your calculation mode
Select Semester GPA for a single-term calculation, Cumulative GPA to combine current grades with previous academic history, Target GPA to determine the grades needed to reach a desired cumulative average, or Improve GPA to model how retaking a course and replacing its grade would affect your overall GPA.
- 2
Set your grading preferences
Choose your GPA Scale (4.0 for standard US grading, 4.3 if your institution awards A+ as 4.3, or 5.0 for weighted AP/IB courses). Select your Grade Input method: Grade, % Marks, or direct GPA values. If using percentages, pick the appropriate Percentage Scale that matches your institution’s grading policy.
- 3
Specify the number of courses
Use the Courses This Term dropdown to set how many courses you are taking (1 to 15). The composite course table dynamically shows or hides rows based on your selection, and you can enter each course name, grade, and credits in a single-row layout.
- 4
Fill in per-course details
For each course, enter the course name, select the grade from the dropdown (or enter the percentage or GPA value depending on your grade input mode), and set the credit hours. Credits default to 3 but can be adjusted in increments of 0.5. The calculator automatically computes quality points for each course as you fill in the rows.
- 5
Complete mode-specific inputs
For Cumulative or Target modes, enter your Previous GPA and Previous Credits Completed from prior terms. For Target mode, also enter your Target Cumulative GPA. For Improve GPA mode, select which course number to replace and enter the new grade for that course using the adaptive input field that matches your chosen grade input mode.
- 6
Calculate and interpret the results
Press the Calculate button to see your GPA displayed as a primary result with an SVG gauge meter showing where it falls on the scale. Review the structured results table showing each course’s quality points, grade, percentage, and GPA values. The results also display status colors: green for strong performance (3.5+), amber for satisfactory (2.0–3.49), and red for academic concern (below 2.0), helping you quickly assess your academic standing.
