How to Use?
- 1
Select your mode
Choose Final Exam Needed (to back-calculate required exam scores) or Course Score Aggregator (to combine raw marks with optional scaling and weighting).
- 2
Enter your values for the selected mode
For Final Exam Needed mode, enter your current grade, final exam weight, and target grade. For Aggregator mode, set the number of components and enter each name, score, and max marks, optionally choosing a weighting method.
- 3
Use the Scale Total field (Aggregator mode only)
If your institution requires the aggregate to be reported on a specific scale (e.g. out of 50, out of 100), enter the target value. Leave blank to see the result as a percentage.
- 4
Click Calculate and review the results
The primary result appears with an SVG gauge visualising the score on the scale. The structured table shows a detailed breakdown with colour-coded cells. Letter grade and GPA equivalents are provided for context.
- 5
Adjust and recalculate as needed
Change any input value and recalculate to test different scenarios. The Final Exam Needed mode is especially useful for testing multiple target grades to see how ambitious different goals are.
- 6
Cross-reference with your syllabus
Always verify that the weights, component counts, and max marks match your course syllabus or institutional guidelines before making academic decisions based on the results.
